No problem.
We’ve got some fantastic news: the cable protection wizards at PMA have launched the world’s first nylon-based system approved to standards by none other than ATEX, which means that when it comes to hazardous, chemically-reactive or explosive environments, PMA’s Ex-system is of the highest order.
Swiss-based PMA have developed a fantastic reputation the world over for being one of the first choices of cable protection. But it’s not been an easy opinion to gain – a couple of decades ago, utter the word ‘nylon’ in place of good old-fashioned metal and most electrical contractors and engineers would have laughed at you. But not any more…
Those working on Britain’s railways or in power plants, factories and refineries know that nylon is not only strong, it’s also easy to install, durable, flexible, resistant and saves considerable amounts in labour costs.
The Ex-system takes the material’s properties one step further: due to a specially modified formula all components in the range avoid formation of electrostatic charge on the material surface, thus preventing the possibility of ignition of explosive atmosphere due to uncontrolled static discharge involving sparks. With a range of fittings that can go from flexible to solid steel, the system is perfect for installations around corners, can be adapted to suit any application and is suitable for use in dusty environments such as flour, paper mills and breweries.
So when it comes to bright sparks, PMA has got it solved.
